Hi, I’m Taka
Fishing has been part of my life since I was a kid. Bass fishing was my main game, but I’ve spent plenty of time on the sea as well, mostly on boats, plus piers and rocky shores. I live near the Seto Inland Sea, and I started this blog in September 2026 to help visitors fish in Japan without the guesswork.
What This Blog Covers
Most of the practical details (how to book, the local rules, how to get there by train) are written only in Japanese. I turn them into plain English guides: fishing tours and charters you can book in English, fishing parks where you can rent a rod, hotels where you can fish, licenses and local rules, and travel basics like trains, eSIMs and bringing your own rod. The blog started on the Seto Inland Sea and now covers all of Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa: sea, rivers and lakes.
How I Check Information
Each guide is built from the operator’s official website and booking pages (Klook, KKday and others), official sources for rules (prefectures, fishing cooperatives and park operators), and actual train and bus timetables. Every guide shows a “Last checked” date at the top. Prices, times and rules change, so check the booking page before you go. If you spot something out of date, please tell me with the form below and I’ll fix it.
What I Don’t Do
I’m not a tour operator or travel agent. Bookings, changes and refunds are handled by the operator or the booking site. I can’t call or book on your behalf, but I can point you to options you can book yourself in English. Some links are affiliate links: if you book through them, I may earn a small commission. It doesn’t change the price you pay.
