Want to get out on the water without renting a car or finding the harbor yourself? This shared boat trip picks you up at a Naha hotel in the morning and takes you out for three hours of fishing. You fish in the waters of the Kerama Islands, but you don’t land on any island.
You join other guests on a shared boat, and children from age 3 can join. We built this guide from the Klook listing and the operator’s description of its boat, and we flag anything we couldn’t confirm.

If you want your catch for dinner, we’d pick the afternoon trip. It brings you back between 17:00 and 18:00, and Klook says the staff books a restaurant for your dinner.
Which pickup point is closest?
Klook lets you choose one of three hotels. All three are near a monorail station. This table lists each hotel and its pickup times.

What You’ll Catch
The operator calls this gomoku-zuri (五目釣り), which means fishing for a mix of fish rather than one kind. Neither the operator nor Klook names the fish, so we won’t promise any.
A mix of fish
The operator says you fish for various kinds, and sometimes a big one takes the bait.
The captain teaches you
The operator says the captain gives gentle lessons.
Gear and bait are included
Klook includes the rods, tackle and bait, so you don’t need your own.
Nothing is guaranteed. How many fish you catch depends on the day.

Can I do this if I’ve never fished?

Yes. Klook says beginners and children can join, and the operator says the captain teaches gently. Gear and bait are included, so you only bring yourself.
Price and What’s Included
Klook shows ¥12,500 per person for the half-day shared boat, with hotel pickup and drop-off included (as of October 2026). The price changes by date. The same Klook listing also sells private boats, but this guide covers only the shared half-day trip.

Check dates and book on Klook →On Board
The operator describes the boat as a fishing cruiser for shared groups. Here is what it says.
A toilet on board
The operator says the boat has a toilet.
Up to 14 guests
The operator says the boat takes up to 14 people.
Free photos and videos
The operator says the staff take photos and videos and give them to you free. We couldn’t confirm whether Klook bookings get them.
⚠️ Rain doesn’t cancel the trip — Klook says the boat goes out in rain as usual. Canceling by yourself because of rain costs you the cancellation fee
- Seasickness medicine isn’t sold locally — Klook says you can’t buy it on the spot. Buy it before the day
- The port can change — Klook lists the meeting point as Miegusuku Port or Ginowan Port. Check which port you’re sent to when the staff confirm your pickup time
- Be on time — Arrive 5 minutes or more late and you get no refund
If you get seasick easily, we’d suggest buying seasickness medicine in Naha the day before. Klook says it isn’t sold locally.
Eating Your Catch
Klook says you can take your fish home or have it cooked. The staff book a partner izakaya called Ichiroya (near Kokusai-dori) for dinner. They cook your fish as sashimi, grilled, fried or simmered.
You pay the cooking fee yourself, and you go to the restaurant on your own. Klook gives the fee as about ¥6 per gram of live fish. We couldn’t confirm the restaurant’s hours or closing days, so ask the staff when you book dinner.
If you take your fish home instead, bring a cooler. The operator says you need your own.

How much does it cost to cook my fish?

Klook says about ¥6 per gram of live fish. A 1 kg fish works out to about ¥6,000, by our calculation. You pay the restaurant yourself.
A note on raw fish
Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare warns that Anisakis larvae live in seafood such as mackerel, horse mackerel, sardines and squid. Eating them raw can cause severe stomach pain, usually within hours to a few days. Freezing at −20°C for at least 24 hours, or cooking at 70°C or higher (or 60°C for 1 minute), kills them. Vinegar, salt, soy sauce and wasabi do not. We can’t say which fish you’ll catch, so we’d choose it grilled, fried or simmered instead of sashimi.
Getting There
Hotel pickup is the main way to join. Klook sells this trip with round-trip transfers from the three hotels above. We couldn’t confirm whether you can skip the pickup and go to the port yourself.
The meeting point is Miegusuku Port (三重城港) in Naha. Another Klook listing from the same operator gives the address as 3-chome-3-3 Tsuji, Naha (那覇市辻3丁目3-3). Look for a waiting room with a Ryukyu Fishing Story flag. The operator says the port has parking.
Naha Airport to the port
about 6 min by car, 4.2 km
Asahibashi Station to the port
about 25 min on foot (1.9 km), or about 5 min by car

If you fly out the same day, we’d book the morning trip. Klook says you’re back at your pickup point by 13:00 at the latest, while the afternoon trip returns between 17:00 and 18:00.
Where to Stay
Klook lists only three pickup hotels, and we couldn’t confirm pickup from other hotels. We’d suggest staying at one of the three, or near its monorail station, the night before. Pickup starts at 8:15, and the staff send the exact time the day before.

What if it rains?

The boat goes out in rain, and Klook says the trip runs as usual. Bring disposable rain gear. If the weather is dangerous, the operator cancels and contacts you. We’d suggest waiting for that call, because canceling by yourself costs you the cancellation fee.
What to Bring
🎒 Your packing list
- ☐ Seasickness medicine. Buy it in advance
- ☐ Disposable rain gear
- ☐ Sunscreen
- ☐ A towel. The operator lists it
- ☐ Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and shoes that are easy to move in
- ☐ A cooler, if you want to take your fish home
- ☐ Your passport and valuables on you. Klook says you look after them yourself
Do You Need a Fishing License?
No. We found no license system for rod fishing in the sea in official sources. Japan’s Fisheries Agency allows foreign visitors to rod-fish from fishing charters run by Japanese fishers, and it asks everyone to follow local rules. Follow the captain’s instructions. For more, see do you need a fishing license in Japan?

Hotel lobby to open water, with no car and no map-reading: time to reel it in. This trip suits visitors staying in Naha, first-timers and families with children aged 3 or older. Pick the afternoon trip if you want your catch for dinner.
The same operator, Ryukyu Fishing Story, also sells its Naha trips on KKday (as of October 2026). KKday’s prices and cancellation terms are not the same as Klook’s, and KKday says the tour is guided in Japanese, so compare both pages before you book.
